Carlos Whittaker has challenged his social media followers to get fit by the fourth of July and I have accepted this challenge. I have already started the process about two weeks ago when I started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge, but I liked the idea of joining up with a group of people to do this. I plan on using my blog here as my journal, which is one part of what we have to do as part of the group.

One of the other things we are supposed to do is post a picture of ourselves from today, which is day 1. I am posting pictures of myself from two weeks ago (left) and one from today (right). I am looking forward to the change over the next seven weeks. I am starting off at 220lbs.
As part of this, I am switching from my gym to the CrossFit Ironside Box. CrossFit is a totally insane and crazy type of workout, but I like the challenge that it will present to me. Below is a video of me doing my very first CrossFit workout that we put together for my church to show during our REMEDY series about how to endure. What better show of endurance than a CrossFit workout?
I also need to write a letter to myself from myself on July 4. Here it is:
Todd, you did it! You made the decision to get fit, eat healthier and now you are seeing the rewards. Good for you! Now don’t stop here thinking that this is the finish line. Keep pressing on, doing CrossFit, and eating healthier. Just remember how good you feel today and how much you want to keep feeling this good.
Carlos challenged us today to time ourselves doing 40 air squats, 30 sit ups, 20 pushups, and 10 burpees. I did mine in 5 minutes and 35 seconds.
