18 Amazing Years

Today, I celebrate 18 years of being married to my best friend. Everyone always says that each year they feel that they are more in love with their spouse and I have to say that with me it is very true. However, I would also like to say that each year I also feel that our friendship grows deeper. I am so blessed to have Kim in my life and I can’t imagine what life would be like without her.

We recently entertained the man who was mine and Kim’s youth pastor growing up. A little over 4 years ago he lost his wife to cancer and the two of them were so inspirational to Kim and I as teens, and then as a young married couple. They had such an amazing friendship and marriage. I am so happy to say that I think we have modeled that type of a marriage as well.

It is weird to think that we are coming close to 20 years of marriage, because it feels like just last year we got married. Yet I feel like we have as always been together and I can’t remember life without, nor do I want to. I look forward to going to weddings and being the longest married couple dancing out on the dance floor.

Kim, I love you forever!

I am a follower of Jesus, a husband to Kim, father to Hannah & Caleb, and the connections pastor at The River Church. The thoughts expressed here are my own and not The River Church's.
