Help Out a Hurting Youth Worker

This is my friend Brian, but he is also a husband and a dad and his health is in very poor condition. He is in need of a kidney and pancreas transplant, because they have gone into failure. He was told that he has a 12 month waiting period for transplant coverage. And that means that his insurance will pay for the transplant, but they won’t allow the process to start until he has been covered for 12 months. He just told me that they are out of money and they have nothing left to sell to help make ends meet. He can’t work. And they are trying to move to a less expensive place, but their landlord has threatened to sue them if they break the lease. His medical bills are finally making it through the system, and after the coverage and deductibles it is still in the thousands of dollars that they owe.

I am not a big person to ask people for money, but when it comes to friends of mine who are in serious financial and health problems I will make exceptions. He needs our help. Perhaps you can spare a few bucks to help this family out or maybe you can help out in a greater way. I have placed a widget on my blog that links to an organization formed by a youth ministry site that I am a part of called Youth Ministry Exchange, that is called Raising Lazarus. Raising Lazarus is a non-profit organization that was formed for the sole purpose of helping youth workers who need financial help. You can find out more about them by visiting their site: But please give as much or as little as you can. Here is the widget, but it will also remain in my sidebar.

I am a follower of Jesus, a husband to Kim, father to Hannah & Caleb, and the connections pastor at The River Church. The thoughts expressed here are my own and not The River Church's.
